February has been a fairly good month for reading seeing as though all of the classes I have this semester  have something to do with literature aside leadership. this has actually been my best month ever for reading because I finished a book fairly quickly that wasn’t a candy read and got more than half way through another book that isn’t candy either. I also as part of my duties as crew chief/ assistant technical director was tasked with reading all of the plays that we were producing this semester as well as some of the prospects for choices. For next month I want to finish the book I am currently reading and also finish the third book in “The Lord of the Rings” series and move on to some more challenging reads because i want to have something intriguing and appropriate that I can use for class and diplomas.

My number one choice for books this month would have to be  “The Lord of the Rings: Part One The Fellowship Of The Ring” By: J.R.R Tolkien. I have always been awe struck by fantasy as it is my favorite genre however Tolkien took it to a whole new level his attention to detail and his talent for world building is what has captured the hearts and minds of readers such as my self around the globe for decades. He left no loose ends when writing this novel and every question has an answer if not in the books themselves then the 19 other books he wrote in the same universe 9 of those being pure lore on the universe and characters themselves.

Second  this month would have to be ” My Hands Were Made for This”  By: Alysha Mohomed. This was an absolute pleasure to read even though the subject is the war in Syria it is just so well written and it provides inedible visuals. in similar fashion to Tolkien nothing was left for the reader to be confused about and thorough research was done for all subject matter.

Last but not least would be “The Lord of the Rings: Part Two The Two Towers” By: J.R.R Tolkien. Although I adore Tolkien there was a lot more expository dialogue than I would like and the story was a bit slow as is the nature with fantasy novels. The visuals were still incredible an again there was nothing leaving the reader confused and unlike a normal novel Tolkien incorporated poetry and song into the novel which proves to be somewhat refreshing after chapters of pure text.
